Nothing outside of ourselves can satisfy our spirit. That’s why even the wealthiest people on earth are not content within. The desire for more things in this world, more power, more fame, or even knowledge, in an attempt to ‘fill’ our emptiness, is contained in our fallen nature and can never be satisfied. We were created by God for God but fell out of fellowship with Him. Only through fellowship in spirit and truth with the Creator will a person be satisfied. Jesus is the way to fellowship with the Father. Without the Kingdom of God within, a person is empty and poor.
